Black And White paints
Many watercolor specialists believe that black and white paints should not be included in the palette. And there is a rational grain in this. Many novice artists instinctively gravitate towards black. And white makes watercolor opaque.
But they forget to mention that many colors from different manufacturers by default include these two pigments. And if you love "lavender," look at its composition, it includes white pigment. Indigo has that same black pigment that is considered bad tone in watercolor.
Adding black and white allows you to darken or lighten pigments. But knowing this, why should we give them up Black can lower the "octave" of the original pigment. And white, on the other hand, is capable to make it significantly higher.. For example, burgundy is red with a bit of black. And a pleasant pink in "Mijello" is the same red with a decent amount of white. Knowing this pastel colors from the "White Nights" can be definitely mixed independently.

Don't be afraid to experiment with black and white, but be cautious to not overdo it.
